Waldenwoods Turkey Trot

The Waldenwoods Turkey Trot is a trail race held on November 1, 2026 at Waldenwoods Resort & Conference Center in Howell, Michigan. The course follows trails around Lake Walden and is listed as 3.2 Miles. Start and finish are at the Waldenwoods Resort grounds.

The event benefits the Hartland Area Project, an organization established in 1929 that focuses on health and welfare, education and culture, and economic development in the local community. Waldenwoods is organizing the race with assistance from Running Lab of Brighton and proceeds support the Hartland Area Project.

Registration opens April 16, 2026. Published fee levels are $30 through October 20, $35 from October 21 through October 30, and $45 on race day. To help ensure available race swag, registrations submitted by October 12 are more likely to receive a T shirt and other items; registrations after that date are not guaranteed race swag. Race day registration is available. Packet pickup is at the Family Center in the Waldenwoods camping section, located next to the playground, Lakeside Café, and Sales Office.

Every registered participant receives a race T shirt, a small runner gift bag, and one raffle ticket. Every finisher receives a medal. The Top Male and Top Female finishers each receive a $2,200 Waldenwoods Resort Social Membership. Several raffle baskets and prize drawings are offered after the race and some drawings include a one year Waldenwoods Day Use Membership. Raffle winners must be present to claim prizes. Analog timing and post race snacks are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
