Wadsworth Half Trog
Wadsworth Half Trog is a fell race over 9.3 miles (15 km) with approximately 1400 ft (420 m) of ascent. The route uses much of the terrain of the full Trog but covers a shorter distance. The course includes varied moorland and rough underfoot sections and is prone to muddy conditions.
The race location is Old Town with Race HQ to be confirmed. The route is only partially flagged; flagging is provided at the start and from CP8 to the finish. There are regular shoots on the moors and organisers request no recces on Saturdays.
Transport information highlights public travel options to Hebden Bridge by train and a connecting bus service 595 to Old Town. The bus alighting stop on Heights Road is a short walk to the golf course where race registration is held. Parking is limited and car sharing is encouraged. A voucher prize for sustainable travel has been provided and a raffle ticket is given to participants who arrive in a full car or without using a car; the raffle is drawn at prize giving.
Pre-entry fees are £5.00 for FRA members and £7.50 for non-members via SiEntries by 7 November 2025. Entry on the day fees are £6.00 members and £8.50 non-members, subject to the race limit of 200. Minimum age is 18.
The event is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules as a non GPS race. GPS devices may record route data but must not be used for navigation; using GPS for navigation requires declaring non-competitive at the finish. FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory and will be checked before race number allocation; required items include waterproof trousers and jacket with integrated hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food.
