Event Overview
The Virginia Run for Cancer is an endurance event held in Hampton, Virginia, focused on raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Participants can choose to participate as individual runners or as part of a team. The event is hosted at a nature park located at 1255 Big Bethel Road.
Course and Format
The race takes place on a 3.75 mile all-dirt nature park trail. This course is flat and is USATF Certified (VA12075RT). Participants navigate the loop throughout the duration of the event, with volunteer lap counters provided to track progress. Since the event continues after sunset, runners are required to bring flashlights for night running. Pacers are permitted to join participants on the course after dark.

Logistics and Participation
Participation is limited to 200 entrants. Registration is open to runners and walkers of all abilities. The site allows for camping, and on-site liquid refreshments are provided to participants. While runners are expected to provide their own food and hydration, pizza may be provided during the dinner hours.
Recognition and Awards
The event recognizes various milestones with specialized awards. Runners who complete 50 miles, 62.5 miles, 75 miles, 100 miles, or 125 miles receive wooden plaques. First-place awards are given to the top male, female, team, and fundraiser. The team with the highest total mileage has their name added to a perpetuity plaque. Specialized items such as 500-mile club jackets and 1000-mile buckles are available for returning participants who reach those lifetime milestones. All entrants receive a technical t-shirt.
