5th Annual Veterans Honor Run: 22 Hours of Tribute
The Veterans Honor Run is a continuous 22 hours tribute held Nov 7 to 8, 2026 at Heritage Park in Canton Township, Michigan. The event represents the approximate number of veterans lost to suicide each day and features hourly dedications to honor veterans.
Participation is flexible and walker friendly. Participants may start, stop, and take breaks at any time and can choose their own distance or duration within the 22 hours. The course is a paved loop of approximately 1 mile with minimal hills; runners may complete as many loops as they wish. In-person participants are chip timed, and virtual runners must submit results by November 10 for official credit.
Logistics and support include designated tenting areas near the parking lot, free parking adjacent to the start/finish area with vehicle-side access, and a well stocked aid station offering hot food, snacks, and coffee. Headlamps or running lights are required for anyone on the course after dark. The event proceeds in rain, sleet, or snow with no weather cancellations.
Fundraising for 2026 has a goal of $22,000. Beneficiaries are Guitars for Vets, Therapeutic Riding Inc., and Leashes of Valor, with 80% of event proceeds directed to these organizations. Veterans and active duty military may register free of charge. Pacers, independent support crews, merchandise, participation gifts, and a special finisher award for full 22 hour participants are part of the event experience.
