Vertical Vendetta
Vertical Vendetta is a Vertical K held at Pass Powderkeg in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. The race is a loop in which competitors make four ascents on the lift line route for a total of 1,000 m of elevation gain. The published distance is 9.75 km. The average grade on the climb is 25 percent and the descent follows a slightly gentler line.
The start location is listed as the base of Pass Powderkeg in Blairmore. Organizers advise parking to the east at the large lot south of Isabelle Sellon School. There are multiple timing points on the route but a single aid station located at the bottom of the hill.
A maximum time of 3 hours is applied and, if demand requires, wave starts or heats may be used and assigned by registration date and time. Categories include Female, Female Masters (40+), Female Juniors (17 and under), Male, Male Masters (40+), Male Juniors (17 and under), and Non-binary / Other.
Entry fee is 65 CAD plus GST. The registration deadline is May 23 or when full. Full race information is provided in the Racer Information Package.
