Sinister 7 Ultra
Sinister 7 Ultra takes place in Blairmore, in the Crowsnest Pass region of Alberta, Canada. The event offers multiple distance options and is open to solo runners or teams of up to seven. Racers are allowed 30 hours to complete the full event. The course is divided into seven stages, each highlighting a geographic or historic feature of the area, and the race name is inspired by the nearby Seven Sisters Mountain.
Distance options include:
- 100-mile
- 50-miler
- 50k
- Half Marathon
- Relay (teams up to seven)
The race maps some distances to specific stage combinations; for example the 50k and Half Marathon use portions of the first and second stages. Relay teams may add teammates after registering and can enable an access code to control team entry; teams must start with at least two teammates to register.
For 2027 and 2028 the event also hosts Athletics Canada championship races: the 50k serves as the Athletics Canada Short Trail Championship and the 50-miler serves as the Athletics Canada Long Trail Championship. Athletics Canada members can add themselves to the championship roster through the event form and may purchase membership later and still be added.
Event services include a pre-race welcome dinner and ceremony, event swag, a finisher medal, optional post-race meal and awards, and medical and emergency standby support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
