Uplands Park Night O/Spook O
This annual Halloween Spook O orienteering event takes place on October 30th 2026 in the forests of Uplands Park after dusk. The event uses the Uplands Park map and runs in dark conditions in wooded terrain.
Two courses are offered. The shorter beginner course is called Li'l Goblins and is about 1 km; most controls are on trails, in lit areas, or on prominent features, and navigation is intended to be straightforward. The longer course is called The Running Dead and is about 3 km measured as the crow flies; it is point to point and crosses open and forested areas, so actual travel distance will be greater.
What to bring includes warm running clothes and a sturdy lantern, headlamp, or flashlight. A SportIdent chip rental is included with entry if needed, or participants may use their own chip. Entry fees are listed as $5 for juniors and $15 for adults. Registration, the waiver, and payment are handled through the Zone4 system. The meeting location is the main Cattle Point Uplands Park parking lot near a large glowing tent that serves as a safe zone with hot chocolate and candy.
