Zachary M. Negron UNFORGETTABLE Trail Run & Fun Run
This event at Georgia Cumberland Academy in Calhoun, GA includes trail races and a short Fun Run for young children. Races take place on trails that pass along a river, open fields and include mostly flat terrain with two notable hills on the longer course. Chip timing is used for the 5K and the 10K.
Distances offered:
- 10 km trail run
- 5 km trail run
- Fun Run for second grade or younger, held around the school track
The event supports two causes: the Unforgettable Foundation of Tennessee, which helps at-risk and grieving families with funeral expenses for children, and a memorial scholarship that awards students at Georgia-Cumberland Academy who demonstrate perseverance and hard work.
Awards are given for overall finishers, masters, and age-group placings in both the 5K and 10K. The Fun Run awards medals to the top boy and top girl finisher. Packet pick-up is available on race morning only. Event parking is in the school's main lot next to the 400 m track. The event is organized as a rain or shine activity.
