Ultra-Trail Drakensberg
Ultra-Trail Drakensberg is a trail festival held in the Southern Drakensberg and uses sections of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site. The courses incorporate named mountain features such as Sani Pass, Twelve Apostles, Khanti Ridge, Hodgson’s Peaks, Garden Castle, Rhino Peak and Langalibalele’s Pass. The Giant's Cup Trail forms the backbone of four of the five courses and is located in the park’s southern section.
The park received World Heritage status for its outstanding natural landscapes and its cultural wealth of Sanrock art. The event logo, the Running Man, references the rock art of the region.
The Race Village is hosted at Glencairn Farm. The farm provides a range of accommodation options and has previously hosted sporting events and weddings. On race weekend the Race Village offers catered breakfast and dinner options from Thursday evening to Sunday morning.
Entries open on 25/08. The event is scheduled for April 23 to 25, 2027. A live tracker and results are published for editions of the event.
