Glencairn Trail Run 2026
Glencairn Trail Run is a weekend trail-running event held at Glencairn Farm near Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal, at the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains. The event is organised as a race village with camping, meals and on-site services.
The event offers multi-day route options with a mix of terrain including dairy pastures, forest trails, riverside sections and a few technical stretches. Route batching is used: Day 1 is seeded by previous results and Day 2 batch positions are based on Day 1 performance; runners may move down into a friend’s batch but not up.
Distances:
- Glencairn Ram Run: Day 1 19 km, Day 2 17 km
- Glencairn Lamb Run: Day 1 9 km, Day 2 10 km
Accommodation and packages are available. The Full Package includes a canvas tent and mattress for two nights and an event garment; an Outside Stay option is offered for those not camping in the race village. Supporters and children’s packages are available; the children’s package covers children under 12 and includes meals and shared tent accommodation. Included services across packages and the village include six meals, water tables (two per day), permanent ablutions with hot showers, medical support, 24 hour security, a chill area and post-run activities such as yoga and live music.
Registration is handled at Glencairn Farm and participants collect race packs, tent numbers and village bands on arrival. A dam is present on the farm and parents are asked to be aware of it. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
