Ugly Mudder 12k Trail Run
Ugly Mudder is a 12K trail run held in Reading, PA at the Liederkranz German Singing & Sports Club on April 11, 2027. The course uses trails on Mt Penn and is described by the organizer as including rocks, roots and downed trees. The route is largely different from the organizer’s Chilly Cheeks course and is said to be about 25 percent easier, mainly because it has fewer steep uphills and technical downhills; the organizer also notes some easier sections.
Registration is handled online with a small service fee and closes the Wednesday before the race at midnight; limited raceday registration is accepted for cash or check only. Shirt and entry fees vary by date and by whether a shirt is ordered in advance. A very limited number of extra shirts will be available on race day.
Race services and logistics include indoor toilets, a covered finish area, plenty of parking, two water stops with varied drinks, EMS on site, immediate posting of finishing places and published results the next day. Awards are given in multiple age groups and Clydesdale divisions. The event is usually held in most weather but may be postponed to the following Sunday if conditions make roads impassable; there are no refunds and no mailed shirts or awards. Dogs are permitted if kept toward the back for the first quarter mile, are comfortable around people and animals, and remain on a very short leash at all times.
