UC San Diego Score-O
This is an urban Score-O orienteering event held on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla. The campus spans about 2,178 acres near the Pacific and includes landmarks such as Geisel Library, eucalyptus groves, and the Snake Path. The headquarters is on Sun God Lawn.
The event uses the Score-O format with a mass start and a map at scale 1:5000 with 5 m contours. Electronic punching is required; participants must bring, rent, or purchase an e-punch. Rental e-punches are available for $5 and controls will be AIR+ enabled. An introductory clinic will be offered before the event. There is a one hour time limit; competitors must return to HQ and download within the time limit and check in so volunteers can confirm participant safety.
All participants must pre-register. The event is limited to 100 entries. Fee information published for the event lists adult, junior, and child rates, and an early bird discount period. Volunteers are used for event operations and may receive a credit toward a future race registration.
Access and parking are provided on campus. The recommended parking location is the Scholars Parking Structure with a north entrance off Exploration Drive and a south entrance off Muir Lane; the first 30 minutes are free and a per hour fee applies thereafter.
