Tywarnhayle 10K 2026
The Tywarnhayle 10 km is part of Cornwall's Multi Terrain Race Series and is organised by Truro Running Club. The route starts from Mount Hawke cricket club and follows coastal footpaths around Chapel Porth, returns toward Porthtowan and includes a loop around Tywarnhayle mine. The course uses public footpaths that are generally open and may be recceed beforehand.
The route includes technical descents, muddy sections and a short river section. Maps and a recorded route are available on Strava and on Ordnance Survey maps. Course and venue constraints limit the field to 230 runners and the event is currently sold out. Truro Running Club will donate £1 per runner to the National Trust for use of their land.
A full runners briefing will be issued by email in the week before the race and updates will be posted on the event Facebook page. Entry transfers are possible via SiEntries; SiEntries charge an administration fee and transfers must be completed by the end of 2nd October to allow numbers to be reassigned. Organisers request that transfer offers be posted on the event Facebook page rather than contacting race staff.
The event holds a UK Athletics permit ARC/26/0754. There is also a children's event, the Twarnhayle24, in which participants up to 15 years old complete as many laps as possible of the start field in 24 minutes; each child receives a medal and a small treat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
