Two Prairies Ultra
Two Prairies Ultra is a free fat ass trail event organized by Combat Racing Events on March 13, 2027 in Fort McCoy FL. The run starts at Pat's Island Trailhead in the Ocala Nation Forest just outside Salt Springs and follows sections of the Florida Trail through the Juniper Wilderness area.
The course is two out and back segments. The south leg runs 8.8 miles to Juniper Springs Recreation Area and back for 17.6 miles roundtrip. The north leg runs 7.25 miles and back for 14.5 miles roundtrip. Participation is limited to 50 entries because of constrained parking and the remote environment, and carpooling is encouraged. Registration opens Dec 1, 2026.
The event notes a specific Did Not Start policy. Runners may withdraw up to seven days before the event without receiving a DNS. Withdrawals after that time should be communicated to the race director. Two DNS results at Combat Racing free events may make a runner ineligible for future free events, with exceptions at the race director's discretion.
Participants use and pass through parts of the Florida Trail. The organizer suggests a donation to support the Florida Trail Association with a minimum suggested donation of $25 per participant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
