Twisted Roots : High Cliff State Park, Sherwood, WI
Twisted Roots is a trail running event scheduled for September 20, 2026, at High Cliff State Park near Sherwood, Wisconsin. The event includes both a marathon and a half marathon over varied trail terrain. Runners will encounter technical singletrack, wide rolling prairie sections, and views of Lake Winnebago. Course scenery also includes the Niagara Escarpment cliffs and the historic Lime Kiln Ruins. Some trail sections are shared with mountain bikers and horse riders; participants should follow standard trail etiquette and yield when required.

The event bases operations at the Gathering Space in the upper lot, which provides ample parking and a main aid station. A second aid station along the route will be announced after final approvals. Fuel options include running snacks, water, soda, and an electrolyte beverage. The event is cupless; participants must provide reusable cups or personal hydration carriers. Volunteers will assist with refilling.
Cutoff times are 8 hours for the marathon and 5 hours for the half marathon. Entrants must be 16 years or older to register; those under 18 must complete an additional waiver at check in. The organizer is TYDISH Running. The event does not have exclusive use of the park and is coordinated with park rules and local partners.
