About the race

Traverse the Valley is a DontGetLost AdventureRunning event held in Dundas, ON on September 27, 2026. The race is planned to take place entirely on official Dundas Valley trails and uses map navigation between checkpoints that must be visited in the order shown on the race map.

The format is a point to point race with competitors bused to a remote start and returning to a common finish location. Participants must remain on official Dundas Valley trails; these trails are wide enough for small vehicles and are marked periodically with trail posts. The race map will highlight all usable trails using the same trail marker symbols found on the posts.

For participants who are less confident in off trail navigation, a trail bunny option will be available to follow. Required gear listed for the event includes a whistle and the SportIdent timing chip, which is included with entry.

Distances are approximate and depend on route choice:

  • 10 km point to point race
  • 5 km (ish) point to point race

Entry fees vary by registration period and age group. Entry fee includes copies of the race map, post race food, event swag, and a 2026 DontGetLost Adventure Running membership to cover race insurance. Entry fees do not include HST or online transaction charges. Categories include Junior Women (Under 18), Junior Open (Under 18), Adult Women, Adult Open, Masters Women (50+), and Masters Open (50+). There will be registration, a pre race briefing, bus transport to the start, and an awards ceremony. The start location is to be announced.
