Event Overview
World’s Toughest Mudder is a 24-hour obstacle course event held at Belvoir Castle in Grantham, Lincolnshire. This endurance challenge takes place on the estate grounds and features a variety of up-scaled obstacles and varying terrain. Participants navigate the course continuously for a full day and night, including sections through water and mud.
Participation Categories
The event offers several ways to participate:
- Individual: Open to solo participants eligible for podium places and prize money.
- Team (2-4 persons): Smaller relay teams eligible for podium places and prize money.
- Team (5-12 persons): Larger relay teams not eligible for podium places or prize money.
Course Features
The course includes several specific obstacles designed to test physical and mental resilience. Notable obstacles include:
- Arctic Enema: A plunge into a 34-degree ice pit.
- Everest: A 13-foot greased quarterpipe that often requires assistance from others to summit.
- Kiss of Mud: A low-crawl section under barbed wire with 14 inches of clearance.
Event Facilities and Services
A central "Pit" area serves as the race hub, featuring reserved campsites, food trucks, and a race center for participants and their support crews. An Adaptive Athlete Program is available to provide guidance for athletes with specific requirements. Participants receive a finisher headband, an event bib, and a finisher shirt. Those who complete the event are awarded a medal that can be interlocked with other series medals. A post-event brunch and awards ceremony is held on the following Monday.
