Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Tough Cookie 5K and 1-Mile Walk
The event is an inaugural community day featuring a 5K race and a 1-Mile family walk at Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Camp Edey in Bayport, NY, next to San Souci Lake. The course is a loop through a wooded area on the camp property. Registration is not yet open.
Amenities listed for participants include a finisher medal for the first 100 registrants, an event t-shirt, post-race refreshments, access to family day activities, live results delivered online and by text or email, free finish line photos, and a personalized bib for those who register three weeks in advance.
The program combines timed race competition and family activities. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in the following age divisions: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 to 89, and 90 plus. Family fun activities reported for the event include face painting, crafts, games, sponsor tables, music, and light refreshments.
