TWO TURTLE DOVES
TWO TURTLE DOVES is a Boxing Day fell race held on 26 December 2026 from the Totley AC pavilion at The Cricket Inn, Lane Head Road, S17. Entry costs £8 plus a £1 booking fee. All proceeds go to Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust and Help for Heroes. Facilities at the venue include toilets, showers, a pub and limited parking, with marshals assisting on arrival.
The route is 7.8 km with 270 metres of ascent and is classified as a BS category race. The course begins with a lap of the cricket pitch before moving onto lanes and moorland around Blacka Moor and Totley Moor. Terrain includes short steep climbs, a river crossing at stepping stones, woodland bridleways, pasture, and a long flat section over Totley Moor before a descent to the finish. The 2024 change to the finish sends runners down Strawberry Lee Lane followed by a loop of the field.
The route is entirely on public rights of way and is partially marked; flags must be followed. Due to the season, runners must carry full FRA Best Practice kit: waterproof whole body cover with attached hood and taped seams, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, water and emergency food. Mandatory kit inspections may be performed and noncompliance can lead to disqualification. The race is open to entrants aged 18 and over and is held under FRA rules.
