Tissington Trail Marathon and Half Marathon
The event offers two distance options run along the Tissington Trail, a former railway line in Derbyshire. The trail follows a 13-mile route between Ashbourne and Buxton and is traffic free. The marathon uses an out and back route that climbs toward Parsley Hay in the first half and is slightly downhill on the return to Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
Key details include a six hour cut off for the event and availability of detailed route maps, including GPX files. Entrants receive a bespoke medal and free photographs; trophies and prizes are awarded to leading runners.
Practical information notes the Race HQ at Ashbourne Leisure Centre and an address at Mappleton Road, Ashbourne DE6 2AA. There is car parking in Ashbourne town centre and a small paid car park at the leisure centre. Bus services run from Derby to Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
