Tissington Trail Marathon and Half Marathon

The event stages a multi-terrain, undulating marathon and half marathon along the traffic-free Tissington Trail in Derbyshire. The trail follows a former railway line that runs from Ashbourne to Buxton and is used for an out and back marathon that climbs toward Parsley Hay on the first half and is slightly downhill on the return to Ashbourne Leisure Centre. Route maps and GPX files are available.

Race highlights include scenic countryside, the historic trail setting and a friendly atmosphere. The organiser lists included items such as a bespoke medal, free photographs and trophies and prizes for leading runners. There is a six hour cut off for the event.

Entry fees are shown both as advance offers and on the day. Advance prices are listed at £42.50 for the marathon and £38.50 for the half marathon. On-the-day entry fees, if available, are listed at £50 for the marathon and £45 for the half marathon.

Location details note Mappleton Road, Ashbourne DE6 2AA, with Race HQ at Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Ashbourne DE6 1DR. There is car parking in Ashbourne town centre and a small car park at the Leisure Centre; bus services run from Derby to Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
