Tigger Tor is a fell race based at the Fox House near Longshaw, Sheffield. The course is approximately 8.8 miles (14.2 km) with about 1,610 ft (490 m) of ascent and is classified as an FRA Category B Medium race. The route is entirely off-road on tracks and open fell and requires competitors to visit 12 checkpoints in numerical order across Houndkirk Moor, Burbage Moor and Hathersage Moor.
The course is unmarked; runners must navigate between checkpoints using a paper map and compass. There is an out-of-bounds area on the map that must not be crossed.
Entry is by pre-entry only, limited to 400 participants, with a minimum age of 18 and an entry fee of £12. The event is the first race in the Totley AC Race Series and is the 41st running of Tigger Tor. Facilities at the venue include toilets, food, a bar and car parking; single-use plastic cups are not provided and participants are asked to bring a reusable bottle if they want a drink at the finish.
All entrants must carry the FRA mandatory minimum kit throughout the race, pass a kit inspection to start, and accept primary responsibility for their own safety. Checkpoint locations and grid references are shown on the official course map. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
