Tidal Force Ultra 100

Tidal Force Ultra 100 is a night event held on the Petitcodiac Loop Trail in Riverview, New Brunswick, Canada. The race uses a 6.7 km loop repeated fifteen times to reach a planned total of 100 km. The loop is part of the Trans-Canada Trail and is roughly one third asphalt and two thirds fine crushed gravel, with slight elevation changes. The course crosses two bridges, two boardwalks and one covered bridge, and runs alongside the Petitcodiac River, passing a beer garden along the route.

The format resembles a backyard ultra: participants must complete the 6.7 km loop within an hour to continue; failure to do so results in DNF. Runners still on course at the start of loop 15 may sprint for three cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 and a trophy. Competitors who reach the end of loop seven (47 km) receive a commemorative medal. Those who complete 100 km within 15 hours receive a special Ultra Elite 100 wrist band and are listed as members of Tidal Force's "Ultra Elite 100".

During the night portion all runners are required to wear a functioning headlamp and carry a spare light, a whistle and a personal cell phone. About three quarters of the course is lighted. A halfway safety checkpoint will operate on the Moncton side during the night portion. Registered runners receive a bib, a Tidal Force Ultra 100 wrist band and lighted glow sticks. T-shirts are not included but are available for purchase. 8x8 canopies are permitted in designated areas under specific conditions with no guide wires.
