About the race
The Trails-Giving 5K is a point-to-point running and walking event held on Thanksgiving Monday in Dieppe, New Brunswick, approximately 10 minutes from Moncton. Organized by the non-profit MDR Conservation and Trails Association Inc., the event marks its first edition in 2026. The course covers 5 km through local trails, starting at the Dieppe Aquatic Centre and finishing at Parc Rotary St-Anselme.
The event is chip-timed by Atlantic Chip, and every participant receives a finisher medal. The route features an elevation gain of 43 m and is open to runners, joggers, and walkers, including those with strollers. Participants are categorized at the start based on pace, with faster runners positioned at the front followed by joggers, walkers, and families.
Logistical support includes:
- A one-way shuttle service from the finish line parking at Rotary Park to the start line at the Dieppe Aquatic Centre.
- Bib pickup available the day before the event or on the morning of the race at the Rotary Park Pavilion.
- Access to parking at the Dieppe Aquatic Centre and the Dieppe IGA Co-op.
The finish line celebration takes place at the Rotary Park Pavilion and includes snacks. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to the conservation and development of trail networks connecting Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
