The WILDness
The WILDness is a two-day trail running event at Panorama Mountain Resort set in the Purcell Mountains on June 26 and 27, 2027. The event is offered as a single-day option or a full two-day stage race and includes a short fun run.
Course options include:
- 30 to 40 km Saturday stage with 2200 to 2500 m elevation gain
- 13 km Sunday stage with 820 m elevation gain
- 5 km Fun Run with 115 m elevation gain
- Full race combining both Saturday and Sunday stages
Entry pricing is published with an early bird period from August 1, 2026 to January 14, 2027. Fees vary by option, with separate rates for the full race, single-day Saturday, single-day Sunday, and the 5 km Fun Run. Online registration closes on June 23.
Participant categories include Under 16, Open, and 40+ for the main stages, with Open Men and Open Women for the 5 km Fun Run. Podium awards are planned for the top three in each eligible category, subject to a minimum number of entrants.
The event enforces trail etiquette and safety rules, including a requirement to stay on designated trails, visible bibs and timing chips, and limits on earbuds. The Saturday long course requires mandatory safety gear: a pack or hip belt with at least 1 litre water carry, head covering, gloves, jacket, emergency blanket or bivy, and a personal reusable cup. Aid stations will offer water, electrolyte drink and select food; this is a cup-free event so participants must carry their own drinking vessel. There will be no on-course drop bags; a start/finish area is available for bag storage. Shared use with bike park trails limits some spectator access.
