About the race
The White Horse Gallop is a roughly 12K (ish) off road run that follows bridle paths and crosses the Imber Range, taking runners close to the Westbury White Horse. It is listed as Race 3 of the Wiltshire Off Road Race League and is the 13th edition of the event that began in 2010.
The course and event facilities include toilets, two water stations, refreshments available to purchase, and first aid cover. The event is fully insured. The start and finish are located at Leighton Recreation Centre, Wellhead Lane, Westbury BA13 3PW. Car parking is limited at Leighton Recreation Centre; there is a pay and display on Warminster Road opposite the petrol station BA13 3PE, which is a ten minute walk to the start.
Entry and race rules state that places are limited to 200. The race is open to runners aged 16 years and over on the day of the event. Headphones are not permitted and running with them may lead to disqualification. Dogs are not allowed. Race numbers must be secured to the front of the top using safety pins and be clearly visible at the finish.
Prizes are awarded 1st to 3rd male and female and in veteran categories V40, V50, V60 and V70 for both male and female. A bespoke medal is provided to all finishers. Entry fees and event merchandise were listed with specific prices. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
