The River Tay Way Ultra

The River Tay Way Ultra is a female-centred ultramarathon organised by Wee Run Events, scheduled for 1 August 2026. The route follows the River Tay Way in Perthshire from Loch Tay toward Perth and is presented as roughly 70 km in length. The event route is fully waymarked and the organiser describes the surface breakdown as about 7 km on road, 15+ km on tarmac path and around 50 km on trail.

The event is restricted to women, femme-presenting runners, trans men and non-binary runners. Participants may run solo or in a team of up to four. The organiser offers generous cut-offs (the guidance given is that participants travelling at 5 kph or faster should make the cut-offs), GPS tracking and chip timing. On-course and event services include professional medics, supportive marshals, water stations, drop-bag transfer to checkpoints, free parking and a bus to the start. Other included items are live results, participant insurance, a finisher medal for every finisher, prizes for the top three and a Time on Feet award. Additional amenities noted are sports massage at the finish, period products available in all toilets, and a designated breastfeeding/chestfeeding area. The event is planned to run on a bi-annual basis, with the next edition indicated for 2028. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
