About the race
The Race With No Name at Oxley Creek Common in Rocklea is a limited hour running event offering multiple timed formats on a short loop course. Distances offered include:
- 24 hour
- 12 hour
- 6 hour
- 3 hour
Each lap is an abbreviated 5 km circuit that runs out to the "Secret Forest" and back. For the 24 hour LOS format each lap runs out to the Secret Forest and returns via Pelican Island, and each lap must be completed within one hour. In limited hour formats the winner is the runner who covers the greatest distance; in the LOS 24 hour format the winner is the runner who completes all 24 laps with the least running time, but if no runner completes the final lap all participants are recorded with the number of full laps completed.
On-course rules restrict non-participants and crews from the course and require participants to remain on course until each lap is completed, except for restrooms. Participants must follow instructions from event crew or marshals. Personal aids such as trekking poles are allowed in the standard timed events but are not permitted during LOS laps; assistance between laps from event crew or participant crews may be used where available.
Event facilities include electrolyte and race fuel provided by the organiser, a memento for participants, space for small tents and gazebos, toilets, and food preparation facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
