The Phantom Run
The Phantom Run is a winter trail race held on North Shore trails in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, with start and finish at the Lynn Canyon Park parking lot across from the filtration plant on Lillooet Road in North Vancouver. The event offers multiple distances and a mix of groomed and technical singletrack that includes steep climbs, stairs, and downhill sections alongside the Seymour River and marsh boardwalks.
Distances available:
- 12K
- 19.5K
- 25K
Aid stations are placed on the courses: the 25K and 19.5K routes pass an aid station three times, and the 12K passes an aid station once. Aid stations carry water, electrolyte drink, gels, blocks or chews, cookies and other treats, plus first aid and hygiene supplies. The event is cup-less; racers must bring their own bottle or collapsible cup for aid stations and the finish area. There is no mandatory gear list, but organizers strongly encourage carrying hydration, fuel, and extra clothing for changing weather. Poles are permitted but should not be used in the start area until the field spreads out.
The course is well marked with flagging tape, pink flags, signs, and marshals at key intersections. Wave starts may be used for some distances to manage traffic on narrow trails. The race contributes to local food bank efforts by collecting non-perishable packaged food on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
