The Maverick Peak District X-Trail 2027
The event takes place at Bakewell Showground in Bakewell, Derbyshire and sends all routes into the Peak District National Park. Five route options span shorter trail loops to long endurance routes that use moorland, gritstone edges, valley trails, woodland and sections of the Pennine footpath. Runners encounter steep climbs, rocky descents, river valleys, old railway lines and stone steps.
Route options
- 55 km Ultra, elevation +1214 m
- 41 km Marathon, elevation +992 m
- 28 km Half Marathon, elevation +600 m

Mandatory items are required for the 55 km and Marathon routes and recommended for all runners. These include a waterproof jacket and trousers, additional warm layer, mobile phone, minimum of 1 litre of water, 800 calories of food, foil blanket, self adhesive bandage, hat, gloves, headtorch with spare batteries, a reusable cup and a GPX of the route. Due to likely hot weather dogs are not allowed at this event. The organisers aim to keep outposts cup free so runners should bring their own cup or bottle.
