The Maverick North Downs Trail 2027

The Maverick North Downs Trail takes place on Saturday 19 June 2027 at Cranleigh Showground in Cranleigh, Surrey (GU6 7DW). The event runs on undulating forest trails and rolling fields, passing Winterfold, Hurtwood Forest, Pitch Hill, Leith Hill and sections of the North Downs Way.

Available routes include:

• 50k Ultra: 53 km, elevation gain +1398 m
• Marathon: 43 km, elevation gain +1113 m
• Half Marathon: 23 km, elevation gain +598 m
• Middle: 12 km, elevation gain +332 m
• Short: 5 km, elevation gain +83 m

Participants are offered a fully marked and fully timed course with Precision Fuel & Hydration outposts, online results, event photography, a metal finishers medal, bag drop and free parking. An event village will provide food and drink, including a complimentary non alcoholic beer. The organisers aim for outposts to be cup free; runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle.

Outpost details: Short and Middle routes have no outpost. The Half Marathon has one outpost at about 12 km with a toilet. The Marathon has three outposts at roughly 12 km (with toilet), 19 km and 33.5 km. The 50k Ultra has four outposts, including Peaslake Village Hall (12 km), Base of Leith Hill (19 km), Ranmore Common East (32.5 km) and Base of Leith Hill (43 km). Outposts provide sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks.

Cut off points and times apply to the 50k Ultra and Marathon for competitor safety and are strictly enforced. Mandatory kit is required for the Ultra and Marathon; all runners are strongly advised to carry water, a waterproof jacket, a mobile phone, a foil blanket, a whistle and a reusable cup. Free parking is available at the venue; nearest train stations are Chilworth (about 18 minutes drive) and Shalford (about 30 minutes by public bus), with an approximate 1 hour 15 minute journey from London Waterloo by rail.
