Maverick Chilterns Trail 2027
The Maverick Chilterns Trail is a trail running event on Saturday 24 July 2027 based at Princes Risborough School in Buckinghamshire. Routes run through the Chiltern Hills, including ancient beech woodland, ridgelines and chalk downs, with views across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
The main 50 km route links sections of the Ridgeway and the Chiltern Way and passes through villages, bridleways and wildlife-rich chalk downs. Terrain includes rolling but steep climbs, chalky trails and technical woodland singletrack. The event offers multiple distance options and marked courses with fuel and hydration outposts on the longer routes.
Outpost provision:
- No outpost on the Short or Middle routes
- 1 outpost on the Half Marathon
- 4 outposts on the Marathon
- 5 outposts on the 50k Ultra
Cut off times apply: 8 hours 30 minutes to complete the 50k Ultra and 8 hours for the Marathon. Outposts act as top-ups and may not have space for spectators. The event aims to be cup-free at outposts so runners should bring a refillable cup or bottle.
Practical details include free parking at the venue and a nearest rail station at Princes Risborough about 1 mile from the start. Dogs are not permitted at the venue because it is a school.
