The Maer 10km & Half Marathon
The Maer is a coastal running event in Exmouth on the east coast of Devon. The event is in its seventh year and offers two race distances.
Both routes head out and finish on the same course and split after 5 km. Runners must reach the 10 km / half split within a 36 minute cutoff (approximately 8 minute per km pace); otherwise marshals will direct them onto the 10 km route. The event is chip timed.
Distances
- 10 km The Maer 10km Challenge
- Half Marathon The Maer Half Challenge
The 10 km is a single lap route that starts on Exmouth seafront, passes through parts of Exmouth, then joins the coastal path to rejoin the half route and return along the coast path to the finish, including a downhill stretch to the Geoneedle.
The half marathon is a single lap multi terrain course that follows a disused trainline toward Budleigh before climbing nearly 1000 ft along the coastal path back to the finish in Exmouth.
Entries include an optional finisher medal. A No Medal entry option is available to reduce waste and is priced lower. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
