About the race

The Lost Valley Trail Race takes place on October 24, 2026 at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Dundas, Ontario. It is a point-to-point trail race run along the Iroquoia Section of the Bruce Trail, with separate start and finish locations between Burlington and Dundas.

Distances:

  • 10 km
  • 25 km

Both courses follow the Bruce Trail main route marked with white blazes; only the first 250 m, the last 250 m, and a 2.5 km road section in Dundas receive additional markings. The 10 km course is about 75 percent trail and 25 percent road, with approximately 185 m of elevation gain and 265 m of elevation loss. The 25 km course features varied single track, escarpment ridgelines, rocky sections, a short tunnel under Highway 6, and both steep climbs and descents, with about 600 m of elevation gain and 720 m of elevation loss. The 25 km starts near Cityview Park in Burlington and the 10 km starts near Rock Chapel Conservation Area in Dundas; both finish at Stacey Meadow Pavilion in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.

Logistics and services are described as follows: parking at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area is included in the registration fee, a bus transfers participants from the finish to each race start, and spectators pay the park entrance fee. Aid stations are cup-less; the 25 km has three stations at about 7.5 km, 15 km, and 20 km, and the 10 km has one station near 5 km. Poles are permitted. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Race registrations are limited to 180 participants. Each registration contributes CA$10 to the Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club. Race kits include a bus ride to the start, socks, a neck gator, a sticker, parking, a small custom bib, aid station service, and a finisher medal. Local partners provide product demos and gels made from maple syrup, tahini, sea salt, and rowanberry extract. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
