The Loop Ultra - Dolanog
The Loop Ultra is a 32 Mile trail running event held from Camp Plas in the Cambrian Mountains near the village of Dolanog. The route visits trails, forest tracks and ancient paths, passes Lake Vrynwy and often skirts the Glyndwr Way, with views towards the Shropshire Hills and southern Snowdonia. The course is fully marked and supported by back runners and rangers.
The event is capped at 100 runners (plus friends and family) and uses a generous overall cut off time of 14 hours. Three refuel zones are provided; checkpoints are described as well stocked and able to cater for dietary requirements including vegan options. A full medical team is listed among on-site facilities.
Camp Plas offers exclusive use for the weekend with camping, Field Bell Tents, log cabins, toilets and showers for residents, and porta-loos for non-campers. Weekend offerings include a pre-race barbecue, post-race live local music in an open barn, paddle boarding, a mobile sauna, yoga sessions, firepits and riverside access for wild bathing. Parking details and small on-site charges are noted for day visitors.
The organisers require a full mandatory kit list including waterproofs, race vest, capacity for 1 litre of fluid, map or GPX file, head torch, first aid items and a reusable cup. A kit check will be carried out at registration and by spot checks on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
