Last Tide Standing Backyard Ultra
Last Tide Standing Backyard Ultra takes place in Riverview, New Brunswick in 2026. The event uses the Backyard Ultra format and lists its main distance as a Backyard Ultra Marathon.
The course is a 6.7 km loop on fine gravel and asphalt. The route circles a section of the Petitcodiac River and spans both Riverview and Moncton. It crosses two bridges, two parks and two boardwalks and includes a beer garden area. The course is not certified and is part of the Trans Canada Trail.
The Backyard Ultra format runs in hourly loops: a bell rings each hour and runners must complete the 6.7 km loop to continue; failing to return within the hour results in elimination. There is no predetermined finish; the event ends when one person remains.
Registration fees are listed in Canadian dollars. An early bird fee of $107.09 CAD applied until July 26, 2026 and a regular fee of $139.50 CAD applied until September 17, 2026. Registration is available online and race day registration is not allowed.
Prize money details include 1000 $ CAD and a trophy for the Last Person Standing, 500 $ CAD and a trophy for the Assist, and 300 $ CAD and a trophy for the Opposite Sex of LPS. If the Assist is the opposite sex of the LPS the combined amount is 800 $ CAD. All participants receive a finishing medal, promotional items, a Long Run wrist band and a T shirt. Recognition wrist bands are awarded for 25+, 50+, 75+ and 100+ miles. A new Ultra Elite Club recognizes runners who exceed 100 km.
Run clubs are welcome to use a designated canopy area; participants may not erect individual canopies or shelters and club canopies must be staffed at all times and may be taken down if high winds occur. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
