The Huddersfield Hurtle
The Huddersfield Hurtle is a set of licensed trail races that run along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal at River Colne, Chapel Hill, Huddersfield. The route is a flat out and back on generally good trail surfaces. The trail can be icy or slippy in places, so appropriate caution is advised.
The course is fully marshalled and signed. Feed and drink stations are provided at roughly three mile intervals. Canal-side toilet facilities are available at the start and finish area. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and additional treats. All races are licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules.
Registration opens from 7:30am; participants are asked to allow at least one hour for parking, registration and toilet use. Parking is available at nearby public car parks including NCP Huddersfield Colne Road and Alfred Street Car Park; Huddersfield Bus Station is about a 20 minute walk from the event area. Parking close to the start and finish is not available.
