The Tax Centre Oldaker Street Dental 7 km Great Train Race
The 7 km Great Train Race starts and finishes at the Don River Railway. The route follows walking tracks through the Don Reserve, turns at Coles Beach (3.5 km point) and returns along the same track to the Don River Railway.
The event records a benchmark time to "beat the train" at 31/32 minutes; any runner who beats that time receives a stubby holder marked "I beat the train." Prize money is awarded in the 7 km race: first male and female $200, second male and female $100, and third male and female $50. The winners also receive a trophy and their names are engraved on a perpetual plaque kept at the railway station.
Entry fees listed for the 7 km event are Early Bird $44.00 and Standard $49.00. The organiser provides an event course map and additional event information through the event information booklet and race rules materials.
