The Endless Mile

The Endless Mile is a timed ultrarunning event held October 22–25, 2026 at Veteran's Park in Alabaster, Alabama (7305 Highway 119). The event offers multiple race durations on a certified loop course:

  • 6-hour race
  • 12-hour race
  • 24-hour race
  • 48-hour race
  • 72-hour race

The course is USATF certified at exactly 1.00203 miles per loop. The surface is paved, flat and smooth with a total elevation gain of about 12 to 15 feet per loop. The path is lighted for night running, and the course direction is reversed every six hours.

The event uses electronic chip timing that records and displays exact distance covered. All runners receive finisher medals; solo runners who cover 100 miles receive a 100-mile buckle and those who reach 200 miles receive a 200-mile buckle.

A staffed aid station operates around the clock and provides hot food, made-to-order items, snacks and a variety of drinks. Tailwind hydration drink is available for the duration of the event. The race is cupless; runners use personal cups at the drink table. Parking rules from the Alabaster Parks and Recreation Department apply, including single-space parking and restrictions for campers and RVs.

Recent statistics note dozens of runners reaching 100 miles in past years and a small number reaching 200 miles in the 72-hour race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
