The Drogo 10

The Drogo 10 is a 10 mile (16 km) multi-terrain fell race held around Castle Drogo and the Teign Valley. The race is a Fellrunner Association BM event run under FRA regulations, Licence No. 2026-10150. The route includes varied terrain, river tracks and woodland, with a total climb of about 1760 ft (535 m).

The course starts and finishes on the main drive to the castle, with a cupless water station at Fingle Bridge at approximately 3.5 miles and 8.5 miles, and water available at the finish. Parts of the route include steep descents and narrow tracks where overtaking can be difficult, a long half-mile climb on the far side of the gorge, followed by a steep downhill and a two mile flat section along the Teign with large rocks on the track.

Entry is limited to 550 runners and managed through SiEntries. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred, but transfers between entrants are permitted at no additional cost. Half of each entry fee is allocated to the National Trust for Castle Drogo estate maintenance. The organisers reserve the right to cancel for significantly adverse weather or safety concerns.

Race rules note that no dogs, headphones or navigational aids are permitted. Foot baths may be required to clean shoes. Awards are given for first to third overall male and female and for first in age categories. Long sleeved technical t-shirts are available to purchase with entry.
