The Dirt Circuit - Morristown, TN
The Dirt Circuit is a multi-duration trail event held at Panther Creek State Park in Morristown, TN. The event uses a 2.9 mile loop that combines wide and single-track trails through fields and woods, with two wooden bridge crossings. The loop starts and finishes at the soccer fields, which serve as Base Camp for the weekend, where one aid station is located.
Available race options include:
- 24 hour and 24 hour 6-person relay
- 12 hour and 12 hour 6-person relay
- 6 hour
- 6 hour Ruck
- 3 hour
Relay teams may create their own handoff strategy and are not required to exchange at every lap. The event is cup-free; participants are responsible for carrying their own hydration. Pacing and crewing are allowed. Runners must wear their official race bib visibly on the front of their person for lap credit. Headlamps are strongly encouraged for night running. Unsportsmanlike conduct, course cutting, littering, or policy violations may result in disqualification.
The 6 hour Ruck division has specific dry weight requirements by category and requires weight in clearly stamped plates; finishers in the Ruck division receive a finisher patch. Primitive camping at Base Camp is included with registration for Friday and Saturday nights; RV sites and cabins are available through the park campground. Aid station provisions include water, electrolyte drinks, gels, fruit, snacks, first aid, and cooked foods served during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
