Cordwell Colossus
The Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail running event on Saturday 7 August 2027 organised by First Light Adventure and based in Holmesfield, Dronfield S18 7WZ, on the eastern edge of the Peak District. The course is just over 20 miles and runs across the Cordwell and Linacre Valleys in North East Derbyshire.
The route uses countryside paths, trails, lanes and woodland trods. Much of the course is unmarked; the organiser provides route notes and downloadable GPX files and marks a few tricky navigation sections. Participants may bring a paper map as backup for navigation.
There are two checkpoints with water and both sweet and savoury food at roughly 7.5 miles and 13.5 miles. The event has a six hour time limit. All finishers receive a medal and there are prizes for first male and first female finishers. Light refreshments are available at the finish and there is medic cover on the course and at the event base.
Entries open 19 August 2026 and close 1 August 2027. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees listed are £32 for UKA members and £34 for non members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
