The Chanctonbury Chase

The Chanctonbury Chase takes place at Wiston Estate in the South Downs National Park and is built around a fully marked 10K loop. Runners choose from four distances that reuse the same loop, so participants pass the spectator-friendly Event Village regularly.

The route combines rolling hills, woodland tracks and estate roads, with climbs and descents that reflect Sussex trail running. Aid stations are provided on each 10K loop and supply water, energy drinks, gels, fruit and sweet snacks. The event includes race essentials such as chip timing with live results, course marshals, medical cover, toilets in the Event Village and free baggage drop. Additional onsite services are food and coffee vendors, race photography, a shower at the Event Village and free parking subject to availability.

The event offers the following distance options:

  • 10K One loop
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • 100K

The looped format concentrates activity around the Event Village, allowing regular spectator support as runners complete additional laps. The event is organised by UK TRAINING CLUB and the next listed edition is 16 May 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
