The Big Kahuna 10K - Austin
The Big Kahuna is a tropical-themed running event in Del Valle, Texas on 06/05/2027. The event offers in-person and virtual options across several distances and includes participant amenities such as race tees, leis, music at the start and finish, a tropical-themed photo backdrop, aid stations on course, and a post-race tropical treat.
Awards are offered for the 5K and 10K and include overall trophies for first male and female, a masters recognition pin for age 40 and over, and standard age-group awards. Finisher medals are provided for the 1 Mile, 5K and 10K; the Kids Dash receives a special Kids Dash medal. Age groups for 5K and 10K awards start at 10 and under and extend in standard increments up to 70 and older.
Volunteer options include a Volunteer then Run 5K choice that provides a custom chip-timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal and is limited to the first 10 sign-ups. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP race access, and a choice of a future race entry or a prepaid digital gift card. Volunteers are asked to arrive 1.5 hours before race start to check in.
Course terrain includes pavement, crushed granite, and some unavoidable dirt paths. Packet pickup is available beginning 1.5 hours before the race start. Shirt guarantee applies if registered at least 10 days before race day.
