The Barnyard Backyard Ultra : Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary
The Barnyard Backyard Ultra is a traditional Backyard Ultra running event on October 24-25, 2026 at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary in Erie, Colorado. Runners complete repeated loops of 4.167 miles (6.7056 kilometers) each hour until only one runner finishes the final loop. The event follows the established Backyard Ultra rules used by Big's Backyard Ultra.
The course is mostly flat off-road cross-country terrain with dirt, grass, and gravel and under 200 feet of elevation gain per lap. One central aid station near the race hub will offer basics such as bananas, oranges, bread and peanut butter, pretzels, ice water, LYTN electrolyte mix, and Neversecond carbohydrate drink. This is a cupless event; runners must bring their own hydration gear.
Runners may set up personal camps in designated 10x10 sites on a first-come first-serve basis. Tents must be anchored by weights; stakes alone are not sufficient. Crew support is allowed only from the race camp and race hub/start-finish area. Pacers are not permitted.
All participants receive a race medal. Runners who complete 100 miles or 24 hours receive a buckle; the last runner to complete a yard is declared the winner and receives a special buckle. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary. Registrations are non-refundable; race credit policies apply for withdrawals.
