Ten Trails of Garigal

Ten Trails of Garigal is a timed trail running event based at Acron Oval, St Ives, featuring repeated laps of a marked 5 km course over fire trails and singletrack with rolling elevation. The main format is a 10-lap challenge on the 5 km loop; each lap has a 45-minute cut-off and runners must finish a lap within that window to start the next. Runners may miss a lap, rest, and rejoin subsequent laps.

The event offers multiple distance options based on laps:

  • 20 km (4 laps)
  • 40 km (8 laps)
  • 50 km (10 laps)

Facilities and services on site include aid stations, live timing with instant results after finishing, first aid provided by St John’s Ambulance, participant medals, marked course, catering for purchase, and toilets located within 20 metres. The organisers run a no plastic policy and request participants bring refillable water bottles; water refill points will be available. Parking is available on nearby residential streets and some bus services stop near the oval. Sponsor support includes nutrition and trail-gear partners, with sponsor awards and community recognitions planned. The event also raises awareness and funds for Alpha-1, a charity supporting people with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
