About the race

The Teacup Tune-up Trail Running Race is the second annual trail running event at Teacup, held on Sept. 26 on the Teacup Ski Trail System. The course uses existing ski trails, old forest roads, single track and a new connector called the Vista Ridge Running Connector.

The route leaves the cabin and passes views past the lake, through Nordic Junction, and around Tea Time. Early sections run like single track through bunch grass. The descent includes a loose, somewhat technical trail down Revenge, a smooth section on Hood River Road, and Elkhorn which is soft but stable two track. Owly Way, the Vista Ridge connector, and Vista Ridge return runners to the high point and the finish at the cabin. The climb to the high point follows old forest roads, ski trails, and single track.

Practical details for participants are provided on site. Parking is at the main lot and the trail has been mowed up to the cabin where check-in and the start and finish are located. Restrooms will be open and there will be one water station at the beginning of Owly Way. Light refreshments will be available; bringing additional water and snacks is recommended. The event does not authorize exclusive use of the land and vehicles may be encountered on Forest Service Roads.
