Tappen Brook 5K - Bridgewater, CT
The Tappen Brook 5K takes place on August 9, 2026, at Bridgewater Town Park in Bridgewater, Connecticut. This is the third annual running of the event, organized by the Bridgewater Land Trust and the Bridgewater Recreation Commission. The course uses the recently developed trail network at Bridgewater Town Park, opened the previous fall. The forested route mixes packed dirt and natural singletrack with gently rolling hills and wide paths. Runners will pass woodlands and have views toward Lake Lillinonah. The layout includes subtle elevation changes and varied surfaces that provide an off-road 5K experience.
On race day participants receive a race-day participation gift and top finishers are awarded prizes. The event atmosphere is described as having a small-town, community-oriented feel. Families, friends, and spectators are noted as part of the post-race scene at the park.
