Table Rock Ultras
Table Rock Ultras in Morganton, NC presents two trail races organized by Tanawha Adventures. The event starts and ends at Steele Creek Park and Family Campground and is permitted through the U.S. Forest Service. Entry is restricted to participants age 18 and over.
The races follow technical mountain terrain with creek crossings, rock hopping, and steep sections. The 50K reaches the summit of Table Rock Mountain and returns along the same network of single-track, double-track, and gravel paths. The 30K follows the same outbound course as the 50K and turns around after the second aid station to retrace its route.
Course specifics:
- 50K: ~5,700 ft total vertical climb; ~11,000 ft total vertical change.
- 30K: ~4,000 ft total vertical climb; ~8,000 ft total vertical change.
Trail surfaces:
- 50K: 12 miles single-track, 9 miles double-track, 10 miles gravel.
- 30K: 8 miles single-track, 9 miles double-track, 3 miles gravel.
Aid stations provide water, Gatorade, assorted soft drinks, and snacks such as potato chips, pretzels, cookies, M&Ms, gummi bears, trail mix, and PB&J. Runners are asked to bring their own water bottles or bladders because cups will not be offered. Aid station locations and drop bag points are listed for each distance.
Onsite options include primitive camping areas and reserved tent or RV sites at Steele Creek Park; a discount code is provided for electrical sites.
