Event Overview
Table Rock Ultras is an off-road running event scheduled for September 19, 2026, in Morganton, North Carolina. Organized by Tanawha Adventures, the competition takes place at Steele Creek Park and Family Campground and is permitted through the US Forest Service. Participation is restricted to individuals aged 18 and over.
Race Distances and Terrain
The event features two distinct distance options:
- 50 km: Includes a total vertical climb of approximately 5,700 feet and reaches the summit of Table Rock Mountain.
- 30 km: Involves a total vertical climb of approximately 4,000 feet and shares the outbound course of the longer race.
The courses are composed of a mix of single-track trail, double-track trail, and gravel roads. Participants will encounter various terrain features such as creek crossings, technical stretches, and rocky sections. The 50 km route consists of 12 miles of single-track, 9 miles of double-track, and 10 miles of gravel. The 30 km route includes 8 miles of single-track, 9 miles of double-track, and 3 miles of gravel.
Logistics and Amenities
Aid stations are positioned along both courses, provided at intervals including mile markers 4.8, 9.7, 13.1, 19.3, and 24.8 for the 50 km distance. These stations offer water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks such as pretzels, fruit, and trail mix. The event is cupless, requiring runners to carry their own water bottles or hydration bladders.
Registered participants receive a race t-shirt and post-race food. Finishers of the 50 km receive a hooded sweatshirt, while 30 km finishers receive a medallion.
