NIGHT RACE Sutton Bank Sizzler
The Sutton Bank Sizzler is a night trail race on Saturday 31st October 2026, held from Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, Thirsk YO7 2EH. The course is 7 miles long with approximately 344 m (1128 ft) of ascent. The event has a participant limit of 150 and a three hour time limit. The race holds an Association of Running Clubs permit ARC 26/0777.
The route will be marked with glow sticks and marshalled. The event is cupless so runners should bring a personal cup for checkpoint drinks and for hot or cold drinks at the finish. The organiser lists a set of compulsory items that all entrants must carry for the duration of the event: a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, survival bag, foil blanket, headtorch or torch, and safety pins or a race belt or event clips to attach the race bib. Failure to carry the mandatory kit may lead to disqualification.
Entry fees differ for attached and unattached competitors at the stated rates. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places in both male and female categories. Additional event rules include no dogs, no waiting list, no refunds and no deferrals. Once the race is full a place may be sold to another runner and changed on the SI entries system; transfers to a different race or to the following year are not permitted.
