Survivorfest Running Event
Survivorfest Running Event takes place June 11–13, 2027 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The event is hosted on Treaty Six Territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions Two and Four.
Survivorfest is an annual timed ultrarunning event sanctioned by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU). It is held every second weekend in June and offers multiple timed race options:
- 24 hour solo
- 12 hour solo
- 6 hour solo
- Kids races and relay loop options
Competitors choose between two certified course options. Loop A is a 400 m track course with a cap of 70 athletes. Loop B is a 1.69 km mixed road and track loop. Both loops carry IAU Bronze Label status and receive equal podium places and prizing across three gender categories. The event accepts athletes’ declared gender and supports non-binary registration options.
Course features include flat, low-elevation loops, regularly scheduled direction changes (every 4 hours for 12- and 24-hour participants; every 3 hours for 6-hour participants), a fully stocked aid station available throughout the 24-hour period, and extended live music and broadcast coverage. The event is livestreamed on YouTube.
Survivorfest donates profits to the local Saffron Centre to support education and support programs; since 2019 donations total more than $57,000.
